This past Saturday on March 2nd, international superstar DJ Dom Dolla brought his talent to Dallas, TX as one of the stops on his “Dom Dolla Goes South” mini-tour, which included stops in Houston and Atlanta. The Australian born DJ has been on an upwards curve of popularity and creativity, locking in (sold out) headliner shows at legendary venues this year such as Red Rocks (Denver), Factory Town (Miami), and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (San Francisco), as well as top billing on festivals such as EDC, Tomorrowland, and Coachella.

The Dallas show was hosted at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, a versatile amphitheater and also one of the biggest music venues in Dallas. The Pavilion hosts a variety of genres and a diverse selection of crowd packing performances; With Dom Dolla being the first EDM show at The Pavilion, the venue opened its seated sections, allowing a max capacity of nearly 4,000 attendees. This venue has hosted other EDM heavy hitters before such as Deadmau5, Subtronics, and Slander, with Excision bringing his Nexus tour to TMF this upcoming summer. Such a venue is nearly more than double the size of Stereo Live, the landmark concert hall in Dallas where Dom Dolla played just one year ago, a clear indicator of his increasing demand and popularity.

To kick off the party was Tres Falcons, an up and coming local house DJ making the rounds as he has supported seasoned veterans such as Deorro, Cloonee, and now Dom Dolla himself. Following this act was vocalist/DJ Nala, who has tagged along Dom Dolla for his mini-tour. With the venue thoroughly packed, and the crowd’s excitement through the roof, the main event went underway where for the next 2 hours, Dom Dolla dropped a wide array of his personal hits like Saving Up, Eat Your Man, and Rhyme Dust. He blended his tracks seamlessly with other tech house anthems, allowing for a groovy yet bass boosted vibe that lit up the dancefloor. On top of his personal IDs, he also rinsed the remixes of these tracks from reputable names like Odd Mob, Eli Brown, and Dimension, with the latter having a Drum & Bass remix that infamously gets used as the concluding track to Dom Dolla‘s set, a refreshing switch up of genres that emphasize his musical tastes and sensibilities.

Final Thoughts

When all was said and done, it’s safe to regard Dom Dolla’s Dallas concert as a phenomenal show and a rewarding treat to house fans looking for a blockbuster event in Dallas. The staff at The Pavilion easily facilitated the entry of such a large crowd and provided stellar production including a dual LED screen, lasers, and a unique lighting rig. With barely 3 months into 2024, this night proved that Dom Dolla was on a increasingly rapid rise to what should be an extraordinary year in his career, further cementing his status as a titan of house music.
